For normal UK home charging, a 7.4kW Type 2 cable is ideal. If you regularly use three-phase workplace or public chargers, a 22kW cable allows the G6 to make use of its full 11kW AC charging capability. Choose from cables between 1.8 and 30 metres, including coiled options, or add a portable charger for extra flexibility when travelling.
The XPENG G6 uses a Type 2 connection for AC charging, so you need a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home, workplace and public AC charging.
Do I need a 7.4kW or 22kW cable for the XPENG G6?
A 7.4kW cable is suitable for normal UK home charging. If you regularly use three-phase workplace or public chargers, a 22kW cable allows the G6 to make use of its 11kW onboard AC charger.
Can I charge the XPENG G6 from a 3-pin socket?
Yes. A compatible portable 3-pin charger can be used from a suitable UK household socket for slower charging or as a backup when travelling.
How fast can the XPENG G6 charge?
The G6 supports up to 11kW AC charging on a three-phase supply. Rapid DC charging is much faster and uses a CCS connection with the charger’s own attached cable.
What length charging cable should I buy for the XPENG G6?
A 5 metre cable suits many driveways. A 7.5 or 10 metre cable gives more flexibility if the charger is further from the car or your parking position varies.
