Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Chargers and Charging Cables

Shop Type 1 charging cables and chargers for the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV from the 2014 to 2020 model years, including 2018 and 2019 cars. The Outlander PHEV uses a Type 1 connector, an older five-pin plug, for AC charging at home and at public charge points. Most cars, and all from the 2019 model year, also have a CHAdeMO socket for rapid DC charging, which uses the charge point's own cable, so you only need to buy a cable for AC charging.

The Outlander PHEV charges at up to about 3.7kW on AC, so a 7.4kW Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV charging cable charges it at its full rate from a home wallbox or public charge point. Choose a 7.4kW Mode 3 Type 1 cable (the type that plugs into a wallbox or public charge point), standard or coiled, or a portable Mode 2 3 pin charger (sometimes called a granny charger) for a standard UK socket. Every order comes with free UK Mainland 2 to 3 day delivery. We're rated 4.9/5 on Trustpilot and offer 30-day returns.

What type of charger does the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV use?

The Outlander PHEV from 2014 to 2020 uses a Type 1 charging port for AC charging. The all-new Outlander PHEV, launched in the UK in 2026, uses Type 2 instead. If you're not sure which you have, check the socket behind the charging flap, or read our guide to Type 1 and Type 2.

Can you charge a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV with a 3 pin plug?

Yes, a portable Mode 2 3 pin charging cable plugs into a standard UK socket and charges at around 2.3kW. Mitsubishi quotes about 5 to 5.5 hours for a full charge, depending on model year, so it's easy to charge overnight. Our Outlander portable charger has the Type 1 plug these cars need. For regular use, an outdoor socket designed for EV charging is safer than an extension lead.

Do I need a home charger for my Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

You don't need one, but it's the quickest way to charge at home. A 7.4kW home wallbox charger lets the Outlander PHEV charge at its full AC rate, and Mitsubishi quotes about 3.5 to 4 hours from empty to full.

How do you charge a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

Plug it into a home wallbox, a public AC charge point, or a standard UK socket using a portable 3 pin charger. For wallboxes and public AC posts you need a Mode 3 Type 1 cable, which has a Type 2 plug at the charge point end. Most cars, and all from the 2019 model year, can also use rapid DC chargers through their CHAdeMO socket.
