What charging cable does the Omoda E5 need?

The Omoda E5 uses a Type 2 connector for AC charging. For home wallbox or public AC charging, you need a Mode 3 Type 2 to Type 2 cable. For charging from a standard household 3-pin socket, you need a Mode 2 portable charger. For DC rapid charging, the Omoda E5 uses a CCS connector, and the cable is normally tethered to the rapid charger.

What is the charging speed of the Omoda E5?

The Omoda E5 supports AC charging from a home wallbox or public AC charge point, with a full charge from a typical 7kW home charger taking around 8 to 10 hours. It also supports DC rapid charging via CCS, with a 30–80% charge taking around 28 minutes in suitable conditions.

Does the Omoda E5 come with a charging cable?

The Omoda E5 may come with a Mode 2 portable 3-pin charging cable, depending on vehicle specification and dealer supply. A Mode 3 Type 2 cable for home wallbox or public AC charging is not always included, which is why many Omoda E5 owners choose to buy one separately.

Can the Omoda E5 use rapid chargers?

Yes. The Omoda E5 can use DC rapid chargers via its CCS charging socket. Rapid chargers normally have their own cable attached, so you usually do not need to buy a separate cable for DC rapid charging.

Is the Omoda E5 the same as the Chery Omoda E5?

Yes. The Omoda E5 is produced by Chery, the Chinese automotive group behind the Omoda brand. In the UK, it is sold and marketed as the Omoda E5. The charging cables and chargers on this page are compatible with the Chery Omoda E5.
