What charger type does the Kia Soul EV (2019 onwards) use?

The Kia Soul EV registered from April 2019 uses a Type 2 connector for AC charging and CCS for rapid charging. A Mode 3 Type 2 cable works with home wallboxes, workplace chargers, and public AC charge points. This is different from the earlier Soul EV, which uses Type 1.

What is the best home charger for the Kia Soul EV?

A 7.4kW home wallbox is the best fit. The 2019-onwards Soul EV's onboard charger accepts up to 7.2kW, so a 7.4kW wallbox and a 7.4kW Type 2 cable let it charge at full speed on a standard single-phase home supply.
