What charger does the Kia Sorento PHEV need?

The Kia Sorento PHEV uses a Type 2 connector. A Mode 3 Type 2 cable connects it to a home wallbox or public AC charge point, and a Mode 2 portable charger lets you charge from a standard 3-pin socket. The Sorento PHEV's onboard charger accepts up to 3.3kW, so a 7.4kW cable covers everything you need.

Is there a fully electric Kia Sorento?

Not in the UK at the moment. The Sorento is sold with diesel, self-charging hybrid, and plug-in hybrid engines, and only the PHEV has a charging port. If your Sorento has a charging flap, the cables and chargers on this page will fit.

Can I charge the Kia Sorento PHEV at home with a 3-pin plug?

Yes. A Mode 2 portable charger plugs into a standard UK 3-pin socket and charges the Sorento PHEV overnight. If you charge every day, a 7.4kW home wallbox with a Type 2 cable is quicker and more convenient.
