What charger does the Kia Optima PHEV use?

The Kia Optima PHEV uses a Type 2 connector for AC charging. For a home wallbox or public AC charge point, you need a Mode 3 Type 2 cable. For charging from a household socket, you need a Mode 2 3-pin portable charger.

Will a 7.4kW cable charge the Kia Optima PHEV faster?

No. The Optima PHEV's onboard charger accepts up to 3.3kW, so it charges at that speed on any wallbox or public post. A 7.4kW cable is still the standard choice because it works with every Type 2 wallbox and AC charge point. A 3-pin portable charger is a slower alternative for home use.
