What charging port does the Kia EV9 have?

The Kia EV9 has a Type 2 charging port for AC charging, with CCS for rapid charging. Any Mode 3 Type 2 cable connects it to home wallboxes, workplace chargers, and public AC charge points.

What is the best home charger for the Kia EV9?

A 7.4kW home wallbox is the right choice for most EV9 owners. Most UK homes are limited to 7.4kW on a single-phase supply, so a 7.4kW wallbox and a 7.4kW Type 2 cable let the EV9 charge as fast as your home allows. The EV9 can go up to 11kW on AC, but only with a three-phase supply.

Can I use a portable charger with the Kia EV9?

Yes. A Mode 2 portable charger plugs into a standard UK 3-pin socket, so you can charge the EV9 wherever there's a suitable outdoor socket. It adds around 7 to 10 miles of range per hour, so it's best for topping up overnight rather than a full charge.
