What charger type does the Kia EV5 use?

The Kia EV5 has a Type 2 charging port for AC charging and CCS for rapid charging. A Mode 3 Type 2 cable connects it to home wallboxes, workplace chargers, and public AC charge points.

Does the Kia EV5 come with a charging cable?

Yes. Kia UK lists a Type 2 charging cable as standard on every EV5 grade, for use with home wallboxes and public AC charge points. A 3-pin portable charger isn't included as standard. If you'd like a longer cable or a 3-pin charger for home, both are available here.

How do I charge the Kia EV5 at home?

The quickest way is a 7.4kW home wallbox with a Mode 3 Type 2 cable, which adds around 25 to 30 miles of range per hour. If you don't have a wallbox, a Mode 2 3-pin portable charger plugs into a standard socket and is ideal for overnight charging.
