Guide to EV Extras Charger Installation Service

EV Extras offer a fixed price installation only service for EV Chargers.

You will need to determine the level of service you require for your home for the two standards shown below 

1- EV EXTRAS STANDARD INSTALLATION applicable where your property's electrical wiring system has all the requirements to just add the EV charger. 

2- EV EXTRAS CONSUMER PLUS INSTALLATION applicable where your property's electrical wiring system does not have all the requirements to add the EV charger. Including the installation of a new small compartment (mini consumer unit) adjacent to your existing electrical fuse board.

In order to determine which service you require, please inspect your electric consumer unit/fuse board to determine whether it has capacity to take the EV Charger without modification (two free slots - we will explain this later). The electric consumer is usually found in one of the following locations within the home: understairs area, garage, utility room or kitchen. 

This unit will look similar to those shown below: 

 

Once you have located your electric consumer unit/ fuse board, check whether the it has any spares slots as illustrated below

Four spare/free slots free, 2 on the right, 2 on the left

Three spare slots free on the above- You just need two free slots 

If your consumer unit/fuse board has two spare slots as shown above you only require the EV EXTRAS STANDARD INSTALLATION. 

If you electric consumer unit/fuse board does not have two free slots then you require the EV EXTRAS STANDARD CONSUMER PLUS INSTALLATION.
