Q2 - Is it correct that the price for installation of the charger is fixed?

Yes, you simply need to check that you order the correct installation service we offer two standards of Installation.

1 Standard Installation – for properties where the existing house electrical system has spare capacity to connect the EV Charger without adaptation.

2 Standard Consumer Plus Installation – for properties where the existing house electrical system does not have spare capacity to connect the EV Charger without adaptation.  Additional work is required.

Please see our Guide to EV Extras Installation Services.

Q3 - This all seems too simple, other companies require a survey and a separate quote. Is it just as easy as buy now and have the charger installed in less than 3 weeks?

Yes, it is that simple so long as you already have the EV charger. We do require you to complete a short form after purchase that takes no longer than 15 to 20 minutes. This is necessary for us to confirm that your home is suitable for EV Charging and that we are providing you with the correct installation service.

Q4 - What happens if I change my mind and want to cancel my order?

You can cancel your order at any point upto 72 hours before installation.

We will process a full refund on the next working day.

Refunds will be subject to processing timescales applied by your payment provider.

Q5 - What happens if I have inadvertently selected the wrong installation service/offering?

If you have inadvertently selected the wrong installation service, we will advise you.

In the case of a need to downgrade to the Standard Installation service we will refund you the balance.

In the case of a need to upgrade to the Standard Consumer Plus Installation we will provide you with the option to upgrade.

If the costs of the upgrade are felt to be unsatisfactory, we will refund you in full and cancel the order.

Q6 - Is it correct that the EV Extras fully installed offering is suitable for all homes in the UK?

The EV Extras installation offering is suitable for all properties where there is a mains network to the property (not the wiring in the home, the power supply in your local vicinity, street, village etc.). This typically means a mains supply to the property of 80 amps. This covers most homes in the UK but not all.

We will check this with you prior to installation, should your property not be suitable for EV charging without an upgrade to the mains supply, we will refund you in full and provide guidance on where and how you can have your mains supply upgraded.

Q7 - I live in a flat or am a tenant and qualify for the Government EV Charge Point Grants Scheme, can I claim under this installation?

Unfortunately, at the present time we cannot support the Government EV Charge Point Grants Scheme.

Q8 - Are your installers qualified?

All our installers are fully qualified electricians experienced in EV Car charging installation.

Q9 - Your standard installation allows for the charger to be 15 metres from the electric board, what happens if I need my charger to be installed further?

We can accommodate longer cable lengths, a charge of £18 inc VAT per metre applies for each metre beyond 15 metres.

Q10 - How will the installation date be fixed and what is the lead time for charging?

Our installers will contact you to offer you an installation date within a maximum 3 weeks of the date of your purchase (usually earlier). The installer will agree a date that is suitable for you.

Q11 - What happens before and on the day of installation?

On the day of the installation, you will need to be present at the property to provide access and sign off (you can delegate this to another adult) when the installation is complete. You will also need to have the EV charger ready for installation.

Please allow for up to 4 hours for the installation.

We will agree an AM or PM slot with you when we book the installation date.

During the installation, it will be necessary to switch off the electricity within the property. The installer will do their best to minimise the time the power is off to 15 minutes, but it can be up to 30 minutes.
